THE WINDOWSILL

Rin Sato is a young pre-nursing student that is finally seeing progress in her trek towards registered nursing. Three years into community college and having spent every waking hour of her free time studying, Rin experiences the down spiral of humanity all from the comfort of her rustic country home.

Before the end of the world, Clark Grant spent his days at his Las Vegas job drowning in paperwork or drowning in debt in the 24-hour bar below his cozy bachelor-style loft. His life was in shambles. Yet with the end of civilization and despite the obvious fresh start thrown at his feet, Clark couldn't help but feel jubilantly lonely as he decided to give up his past life and fulfill his dream of exploring the country - without the 'dying part', but of course no guarantees.

Zahra and Zelda have quite literally spent the entirety of their life together. As sisters, they were overprotected by their parents until the day the apocalypse hit. They were their own best friends, roommates during college, and each other's sorority partners. They were attached at the hip until death did them part. Despite their parents' attempts to reel them in during summer break, the two decided to go on an unauthorized girls trip accompanied by Zahra's unofficial boyfriend, Benji. The only issue is, the sisters (and Benji) are forced to deal with the repercussions of breaking the rules when they are stuck in Los Angeles and they realize that no one is coming to save them.

MCLENNAN'S COFFEEHOUSE

As part of the graduating class of 2016, Reyna Valens had almost everything going for her. She had her driver's license, her second-hand car passed down from her dad, and she was set on moving past her tumultuous and somewhat ugly high school experience.

She was ready to leave sunny San Diego and move to the bright lights of LA. Since the time she was in middle school and almost flunked her 8th-grade algebra course, she wanted to leave and never come back. That never ended up working out when her parents' past caught up with her present-day self and they definitely did not see eye-to-eye.

Fast forward to August, she's now working as a barista at a coffee shop in the middle-of-nowhere California and attending a community college two towns away traveling by semi-defunct commuter train. Follow Reyna Valens through the intricacies and mystery of her new life as the new girl working in the town's hottest establishment, McLennan's Coffeehouse. A coffee shop home to the town's outcasts, insomniacs, and rebels.
